- What is the typical length and frequency of sessions?
-
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, but sometimes we can schedule an 80-minute session if you are feeling in crisis, or it is a couple’s session. We will generally meet on a weekly basis, but everyone is different, and may require more or less sessions. We can discuss in person and set a schedule that feels right.
- What insurance plans do you take and how do I pay?
-
I do not currently take insurance, however, I would be happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. I accept check, cash, credit care venmo and zelle.
- How long will therapy take?
-
I wish that I could answer that, but unfortunately, everyone’s circumstances are different, and the length of therapy and a person’s personal goal vary with each individual. If your dedication and desire for growth is strong, the length of time will be less.
- Do we need to talk about the past, to combat my problems?
-
I will need to gather some information about your past to understand where your belief and behavioral system has come from. However, I do not stay there for too long. We have a lot of work to do and ruminating on the past is not the way I get you where you need to be.
- What type of therapist are you?
-
I practice different types of therapy, depending on your tolerance and what you are needing at the time of therapy. My main mode of therapy is Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy, which helps you to change your thought processes and refute past thoughts which will create a happier future.
